Prices vary wildly and packaging is easy to copy. How to check what you are buying before it touches your face.
Korean skincare has a devoted following in Nepal for good reason. The textures suit humid weather, the ingredients are well documented and the price points can be reasonable. The problem is the grey market, where genuine products sit next to convincing copies.
A legally imported product usually carries an English or Nepali label with the importer name, batch number and expiry or manufacture date. If the only text on the box is Korean, and the seller cannot tell you who imported it, you are taking a chance.
Some sellers import directly and pay duties, some bring stock in through travellers, some buy from wholesalers in other countries. That explains modest differences. It does not explain a product priced at a third of everyone else's, and it usually means the stock is old, expired, diluted or fake.
The famous ten-step routine is marketing more than method. Cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen do most of the work, and a humid Nepali summer rewards fewer layers. Add one product for one concern, use it consistently, and see whether it earns its place before buying more.

If you suspect a product is not genuine, stop using it and keep the packaging. Photograph the batch code, the seal and the seller's listing before you contact them. Do not continue using something that smells or feels wrong just because it cost money, because a reaction will cost more.
Buying from sellers who can answer sourcing questions protects you and rewards the importers doing the work properly. It is a small habit with a large effect on the local market.
